File - Backup and Restore   (Records Only)

You will find the Backup and Restore feature located in the program's Yellow Menu bar, "Info Center".

The Backup and Restore feature allows you to back up your records only for use in a transfer to a newer version of our program. It is also used when a full reinstall of our program is required.

What Not To Do

Do not restore to a program with existing records or you will create duplicate records.

Customers who purchase an upgraded version of a program do not necessarily have to consolidate all documents in the new version using Backup and Restore. You may prefer to leave the old records in the old version of the program. Backup and Restore is not mandatory for the programs to function properly.

Important Information

The Backup feature does not back up the entire program package, and will not be sufficient to recover from a hard drive or other computer failure. To create an archival backup of our program, see Program - Backup Copy.

This feature is not included in some early versions of our program. Also, because of the variances in program development over time, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to restore your records from an older version of the program to a newer one.

We advise against using the Restore feature except when instructed to by our technicians. Using the Restore feature may result in duplicate data and other data anomalies.

When you restore the records to the program with a different serial number, a new unlock code will be required. It is company policy to charge a fee for each new unlock code issued. To avoid any charges, please use a backup copy of the program you made using the procedure found on the Program - Backup Copy page. The backup copy will have the same serial number and it will not require a new / different unlock code.

Again, we recommend regular backups of your records and program to preserve your records and avoid having to purchase a new unlock code. For details on this procedure see Program - Backup Copy.
